Lookie lookie..just picked it up
« on: March 06, 2013, 07:31:34 pm »
Just picked this up on my way back from work. Its rough country 4" life. Springs all the way around. after 26 years of being so ow to the ground it's finally time to stretch Old Blue's legs and solidify my redneck status.. next will be wheels and tires planning on 33'smaybe 35x12.5x15 but definitely not bigger than that. Plan on putting it on this weekend.

Haha...i'm sure I'm going to be wanting one after driving on these crapy eastern Virginia roads. I thought Arkansas was bed but I'm beginning to think otherwise. Here instead of fixing the roads they just make a new one. Granted the weather hasn't helped road quality at all.

Check the rear leaf spring shackle for travel and deteriorated wear, it should move freely with no play.

Not yet. I am actually about to be deployed here soon so I am just going to wait until I get back. mean while the pile has grown and will continue to grow until I get back I hope. Plus I thought that we were going to move and I didn't want to load up my tools, block, heads air compressor and other heavy things 4" higher. Now we are not moving but I have ran out of time. but have no fear it will be done along with rebuilding the TBI, wheel studs, fuel sending units and pumps, upholstery, and hopefully sound deadening and carpet...fingers crossed.

Everything is brand new so I really am not worried about checking them. What I don't understand is why they pressed in the rubber bushings on the rear eye of the rear leafs and not the polly ones included with the kit.
