moulded floor mats
«
on:
March 16, 2013, 09:54:30 pm »
I am looking to find out if there are moulded floor mats available for the 73-87 trucks. I want some like the husky or weathertech that fit perfectly.
Any thoughts on this...or any suggestions on which mats fit the best.
TIA

I know of none of the aftermarket supporting these for drop in stuff. They both offer universal ones.

There quite possibly could be a modern rig that has a mat that fits the shape...someone would have to experiment to find out though.

According to Summit Racing, Husky makes a moulded set of mats for 75 - 91's. I've tried to find out what the differences between a '73 - '74 and '75+ is but haven't found yet a compelling reason why they wouldn't fit. I have a '74 and may just buy a pair on the chance they'll work.

Resurrecting this a bit...any reason why Weathertech mats for a 1991 Suburban or Blazer wouldn't work? They both show online a complete set with a rear cargo liner, but I'm sure you could get them without that rear liner if you called them.

I don't know...wouldn't a '91 Suburban be an R/V?!

. I don't have any but would like to try some. If you find any better options, please let us know.

I don't know all of the in's and out's of the model change over. Sometimes really weird stuff happens for various reasons. If I look up the Chevrolet Suburban in Wikipedia it says the 8th generation Suburban went from 1973-1991 (which jives with what I know), but then it says the 9th generation Suburban started in 1991!?? Maybe this is a September model year mix up? 1992 model year Suburbans were first available in Sept of 1991. Wikipedia is just confusing me...and let's not get off on a tangent about the reliability of Wikipedia. We all know that the internet is 100% accurate, 100% of the time!
The picture shown on the WeatherTech website for the 1989, 1990 & 1991 Suburban is the same! No idea if it is a picture of the actual product or an example picture. Guess I will have to see if I can get some with a return guarantee if they do not fit properly.
Incidentally...the picture shown for the 1992 Suburban is completely different!

Irish, that picture appears to be normal floor mat, which we sell.

Floor Mats Irish...not a complete rubberized floor liner.
I'm going to call Weatehtech soon and see if I can order that 1991 Suburban set without the rear cargo liner. I have a universal set of 'Chevrolet' emblazoned mats in my crew right now, but they are rather thin and slide around. I'd like something that will catch and hold some water and dirt.
The entire floor boards are already rino-lined with carpet over the top, so I don't really need a full rubber floor liner.
