Serpentine belt conversion....fan question
« on: March 21, 2013, 08:28:31 am »
Has anyone done this conversion using the mechanical clutch fan?  I have most of the system from a 1996 Vortec 350 (I do have the reverse flow water pump).

Thanks

My truck is '84

The fan spins backward as well.

Have to make sure all components are compatible.

Yes , I understand the fan spins backwards, I will use compatible components. Im just wondering if the fan is the same diameter as the old fan and if there are any fitment issues.

That I have no way of knowing.

My son is using a serpentine system off of a '98 Blazer 4.3 on his '85 K-30's 350. He is not running a fan shroud. I don't know how close his new 9 blade plastic fan is to his old 7 blade steel fan.
