CB Radio Mount
« on: March 21, 2013, 10:57:56 pm »
Can y'all show me some pics of where you mounted you CB. I have the plug and chug and the 4x4 shifter and it will not work under the ashtray for me. Looking for some other options

Man I had one installed in my 83 back in the day.  It was installed directly underneath the radio.  Worked out really well for me.  I thought I might hit it with my leg, I am 6'2", and it never happened.

Ya I looked at putting it there but I feel my leg or foot will hit it. Is there a way to mount it to the floor with an incline?

I honestly wouldn't mount it on the floor....if anyone every set "B" then you would have them kicking every time.  You might try mounting it like a semi, from the roof.  I have seen this done before.  sorry I don't have picks.

What radio do you have? I've got a Uniden PC68XL in my highliner...

want to sell the drink holder? LOL!  I used to have a floor mount that had an extra speaker built into it that was pretty cool. Had it wired with a cigarette lighter plug in so it came out quick

I never had a problem with mounting mine below the ashtray, the largest CB I've had there was a Cobra 29 and a similarly sized Realistic. The slip-seat rig I put together for trucking will probably go in Earl until I figure out a new comm setup, and it's tiny enough I can mount it just about anywhere.

I mounted mine on top of the dash pad, basically right after the lip for the dash cluster. I have it angled to face me and the mic hooked on next to the cubby above the heater controls...that way my cord stays out the way. I have a pic of it somewhere....I will find it after work and post it.

Here is where I mounted my CB .... I just drilled two little holes in the dash and bolted it through
