1in rotor spindel vs 1.25in spindel

just curious how can i tell if the spindle is for a 1in rotor or a 1.25in rotor... is there a certain measurement of the spindle itself? thanks...

1" and 1.25" is the OD of the spindle.

so your saying that for a rotor that is 1in thick the spindle is 1in in diameter? same goes for the 1.25?
