I have searched and have only seen people replacing gauges and dash pad recovering. After numerous failed attempts at trying to redesign the cluster section I decided to do a new dash. yes completely redesigned dash one side to another. how is this possible you may ask? well I took out the pad and tossed the cluster, then with sheet metal cutters I removed the entire dash frame from door to door, windshield to floor. Ive also converted the 3 speed to an overdrive transmission. Since I haven't seen this before I was wondering if anyone would be interested in tips or pictures or measurements of fabricated brackets for this job? (also redoing the entire electrical system and building my own harnesses and fuse panel)

First off welcome to the site.
We here are
ALWAYS
ready to see pics and details on how owners have modified their trucks. So post away and we will enjoy and sure some will have questions and comments.

I added all the switches for times you want to maybe leave the choke on for a bit longer or turn off the coil to crank the engine over without it starting and turn off the amps because a booming sub just doesn't suit talk radio

I've seen hotrods that had a 59 impala dash swapped in...something like that would be cool.

I also have a '74. The car dashes wouldn't be tall enough I wouldn't think. I like the 50's era but they're a bit narrow and would need to be stretched. The mid to late 60's should be wide enough but the layout isn't my favorite.

There is (was I should say as they've now folded) a local custom shop that did up a 79 with a dash from a 67-72 in it. Same shop did a 59 Impala dash in a 87 Regal.

Unfortunately, no. Not right now anyway. The shop took it's website down. I'll try looking around for them on another website as it was covered through a magazine article I think.
