Digital rear view mirror

I'm sure this has been done before, but I wanted to show off my digital rear view.  It's the one feature I miss from my dodge...may it rest in pieces.  It's out of a junk yard Buick or something from the late 90's I think...age and model doesn't really matter.  Temp sensor is mounted i front of my radiator on a support.  Temp & compass...just nice to have and accurate as it gets.

what all did you have to pull out of that buick? that would be a cool thing to put in my truck.

Pigtail for mirror (plugs into mirror)/temp sensor (you could go buy one for about any GM product...my '04 Tahoe has the same mirror    and then you need the sensor pigtail.  You can find this setup on eBay for less than $60 or in your local junkyard.

 Technically its called a Gentex 177 commonly found in 2000-2004 trucks, but was in many other products as well.

Certain ones rely on signal from ecm To update the compass directions ( the head consoles use them too.) I built a console for my truck that had temp and direction in it.

The beauty if this setup is that the compass sensor is internal...just had to drive in a circle the first time it fired up, to calibrate.
