Window regulators sticking or binding
« on: April 18, 2013, 08:19:39 pm »
My manual windows are getting hard to roll up and down. I had put all new felts and weatherstrip in a few years back when I put the new doors on.
I figure something needs lubed or adjusted. I'm just wondering if there is something in particular I should be looking at or paying attention to. Or is there something that wears theat needs replaced (besides replacing the whole regulator)?

I tried doing a search, but mostly what I found was about converting to power windows.

Spray the felt channels with a dry silicone spray, not WD-40, grease the sash rail and stationary door roller tracks, grease the regulator gears, lube the scissor joint, and verify the glass channels are properly adjusted.

It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!
