Hello from Dayton, OH
« on: June 10, 2013, 08:52:06 pm »
Hello everyone.
I have been stalking these boards for a couple weeks educating myself on the lemon that I just purchased. There has been heaps of good information so I decided to join.
I have an 86 c10 with a 355 crate and 4 on the floor. Has a mild cam and I am working on a vortex head swap. Got the heads really cheap and my plan for the truck is to race it for a year or so then trade for something else.  It has a pretty awful paint scheme, and has had nearly a dozen little problems since I got it.  Overall though, it's a neat little truck.
Hope to learn from the boards and potentially help others!
Thanks

Welcome from NW Indiana.  I am sure you will get hooked...  Unless you're not a truck guy.

Welcome from Louisiana. I'm interested in seeing this paint scheme you spoke of.

The first vehicle I ever bought was a truck and I've kind of missed it.
I will attempt to load an image next time I am home.
Thanks

As promised, here is a picture of the paint scheme.  Has some rust and dents, plan is to body fill and paint the bottom half white or whole truck blue.   Just want to avoid having to do the jams and engine bay.
Thanks

Welcome from Michigan. I love how they even painted the "dumbo" mirrors blue too.

Yea, they don't look too bad aside from their ridiculous size. Once money finds its way back into my pocket I will probably lose them for some small chrome disks or something. Just started with the clutch line and it seems I have a blown slave cylinder. Glad I have a daily driver aside from this. Heads get back from the shop Monday.

Thanks
