Frame galvanizing?

Has anyone tried galvanizing their frame and suspension components? Just wondering if that would be a long lasting cost effective alternative to powder coat or epoxies?

Never heard of anyone doing that, be kinda ugly I would think but it would be different..

I think you would be better off powdercoating or painting.

Dip tank hot galvanizing is very effective. It works on ships on the ocean. I have done removable things like hatch covers and gooseneck vents with great results.  Certain painting systems can be done right over it. In particular polysilioxane (psx) paints. Quite expensive,though. Cold galvanizing is not nearly as effective.

only messed with galvanizing once or twice in a welding shop. once was for jersey barriers. we fabricated them welded them all up sent them out to be galv and came back for us to assemble them. but if i remeber right they would easy flake and chip. thinking how a frame flexes wouldnt that be a problem?
