I started out with a stock 87 3/4 ton truck that my dad an I wanted to build for my first truck (I'm 15 1/2). It had 66xxx miles on it when we picked it up for $2500. The first thing we did was replace the front windshield due to 3 or 4 cracks in it. After that we decided to get it painted and some rust repair done to it because the doors were rotting pretty bad and above the wheel wells were a couple rust spots that had gone through. This is what it looked like before we took it to get painted. And yes the nasty old man running boards are off.

So it was at the paint/rust repair shop for a month or so and I was very pleased when we got it back from the shop this is what it looked like

It was a total transformation. After that I decided that it needed the chrome trim put back over the paint line. So we ordered the chrome molding to put on it. After we got that put on I decided to paint the wheels black and see how they looked because they were rusty and rattlecans are cheap so I took them from this
and turned them into this
With the painted rims and the new trim the truck was starting to take shape.

All that was left were some tires and exhaust. I ordered some Cooper discoverer at3 that I think will look good on some black crager wheels. I decided I didn't like the black stock steelies. I took it to our local muffler shop and got his opinion on what would make it sound the best and we settled on straight duals with no cat back to 18 inch glass packs and 3 inch tips out the side. In my opinion sound perfect. They can splat when you want it or have that smooth and mellow rumble if you want. I will post more pics of the piping underneath but this is the tips.
Please tell me what you guys think so far and I will be posting pictures of the new wheels and tires when they come in. I would also like some advice on stereo systems. That will be my next upgrades. Then I might get into performance mods. Thanks. Let me know if you would like any special pictures that I didn't include
Thanks,
Zach
