pull a part
« on: July 20, 2013, 02:40:33 pm »
Went to my local pull - a - part today for a few things. I haven't been there in probably 6 months and was surprised that there wasn't one single square body! Not long ago, it was common for them to have a dozen or so all the time. It seems they have quit buying vehicles by the ton and now are paying a flat rate for everything. That means all they are getting in are smaller cars  :o Guess I need to find where the good stuff is being taken now!

Kinda like our local pick-n-pull.  When inventory gets low, they advertise like crazy and get all kinds.  When it is full they stop buying everything.

And when steel prices are high they take the trucks and crush them.  Do like me and have a couple laying around to rob parts as you need them ;-D

Junk yards here are paying $205 a ton. Most of the old stuff (like our trucks) gets crushed down as soon as
It goes over the scales.
