Cab Light Removal

First time posting so I will try and make it quick. When I bought my truck( 85 C10) the previous owner had those orange cab lights installed on the top of the cab. As far as removing them goes, I think I have that figured out. My question is, I assume there is a hole for the wiring to run to the actual light, how would I go about filling that hole to prevent rust?

In our shop I would weld them and then wipe some body filler then paint it. are you wanting to fix the holes or just plug them?

Welding it would be the best. Or are you looking for a quick fix to keep the water out?

Well eventually the truck will get a new coat of paint, once I get the interior and engine to a point I am satisfied with, so I guess a temporary plug, though it sounds like eventually they will have to be weld up.

Harvey85- for a quick fix on the screw holes use a grommet washer and a dab of sealant. For the other holes if they are larger than a screw...I guess we would have to see a picture of the holes the previous owner made. Hopefully he didn't butcher it up too bad.

That's a really good idea! Thanks for the advice...now if it will just quit raining long enough for me to actually pull them off.
