i would do the ball joints before the alignment since you will have it torn down anyway

Well I will have lifetime alignments. But the ball joints have still some live on them. Barely moving.
I have a question for you?
My rear shocks have been loose for a while, from what it looks like. The hole where they bolt in on the frame is pretty big. Is the a mounting kit out there for beefier shocks? I have a 1500 truck. But it has 3500 suspension from what my grandpa told me. Cause of the snowplow.
Any help would be awesome.

the whole in the frame is because the bolt has made it bigger. your going to need to patch that up before you install new shocks or the shock will be bouncing around just like your old one. they do make beefier shocks they are about the same size in bolts and travel they just work differently. one thing to look at is the tires, a ¾ and 1 ton will have 16"+ rims and be 8 lug. while ½ will have 6 lugs on a 4x4 and 15"+ rims

i would look into that alignment cause changing parts might void it. idk never had one just read the small print
