Electric Vacuum Pump and Install
« on: August 28, 2013, 02:05:45 pm »
Hi all,

I have an 83 C10 (profile picture) that i've got a 383 from ATK engine (highly recommend) out of Texas...well, now as you know I can't stop because of lost vacuum.  I've found a few electric vacuum pumps--one from SSBC and one from Summit, both around the same price.

Does anyone have any experience with these vacuum pumps? Can they be installed by someone that's not an ASE certified brake guy like myself (I'm actually an Army officer--) or should I take it to my shop that I trust?  Thanks....

They can be installed by anyone with a bit of knowledge, a few hand tools & a little common sense & if all else fails...read the instructions. Lorne
