Howdy from Fort Collins Colorado
« on: September 02, 2013, 12:20:26 pm »
Hi all. Super stoked to be a part of this site as I am the new owner of an awesome 1975 c10 short box. 331i V8 .030 over, balanced & blueprinted, polished and ported. Roller rockers. Comp Cam 277/282, 470 lift @50. 410 gears in rear. Ceramic coated shorty headers 12" cherry bomb glass packs. Lowered 3" front - 2" back. Sitting on centerline 18" Heres a link to a sound clip and walk around.

So as I am learning about this truck I am wondering what cool things I can do. I will start with the tko-500 trans soon. I have about $6000 set aside to spend on her but I need some input. I am just learning about these engines and what I can do with this one so let the ideas / opinions fly guys.

First off welcome to the site from California.  Glad that you are here, and you have come to the right place for help with your 75.
Second, nice truck, nicely done on the video, and I know this is a Chevy site, but nice F100, those old fords do have an appeal to me.
As far as what to do with the truck, spend some time browsing the members rides section, and projects post to find out what other members have done with their trucks.
My wife and I have a vacationed planned to Colorado late November to see her parents in Colorado Springs, I love how CO. feels in the fall.  Good luck with the truck and ask away with the questions.

Thanks guys. So I am placing the order for the tremec 5 speed tko early next week. I am however still on the fence on which one to get. Its between the 500 and the 600 ( not 600 st race ). I am trying to understand how my truck will run with the different ratios between the two. I have 410 gears in the rear and I want the truck to be fast off the line but I need to have the good overdrive for the highway too. What do you guys think?
