« on: November 14, 2005, 01:07:00 pm »
Hey guys I just got a 1980 C10 from my dad and I am wanting to lower it, my question is on the rear is there a kit to locate the leafs on the bottom of the axle if so how much drop would that give me?

yes there is.  It is called a flip kit and it cost about $40 or so.  It will drop a truck approximately 5-6".

Are you asking this in relation to do you have to get it aligned after you install spindles?  If so, the answer is anytime to replace components of a suspension you SHOULD get it aligned.

Spindles won't affect it much as dropped coils in comparision.

if i could chime in, here's my scenario regarding lowering the rear as well...

i put new front end kit and happened to buy new front coils....well, i have stock height spindles but a level stance.  i asked this before.  whoever had the truck before me removed some rear leaves and so whenever i put anything in my bed, it squats down.  is there anything i can put to keep a level stance whenever i replace the missing rear leaf(s) or would you recommend some air adjustable shocks for when i do carry a load as not to squash down?

I wouldn't recommend Air shocks on anything that you want a good ride on.  If you put the spring back in, you need to get some dropped shackles or hangers depending on how much drop you got.  All trucks are going to squat down when you put a load on it.  Typically removing a couple of leafs doesn't drop the payload that much.  How many leafs are in it now?
