Crew Cab Headliners in the making

I think I read once that it was possible to roll/ curl it and go through a window. I know I struggled to not mess up the one I pulled it may of been back window it was a parts truck and long enough ago I don't recall for certain. Maybe a new one would flex enough but the 30 odd yr old one I pulled was very fragile. I figured through the windshield to go back in.

I am picking up a 88 K3500 Crew cab this weekend, pretty sure the roof is ok, I will double check and get back to you.

'88 V3500 you mean?  Or is it a Gen 4 1-ton regular cab?

March 16, 2016: Creating a little backstory, but on this date what I had going for a headliner was lost in an industrial fire.  This company helped with the Pillar Pod creation.  They just were able to get back into reconstruction on October 30.  They have plans to be back in business at the beginning of the year.

October 30, 2016: Since April I have been trying to assess what was left and there were little information due to the safety issues surrounding the fire and materials.  During this time I searched local used parts places with no luck, attempted to find and purchase a project truck with no luck and finally found someone willing to cut the roof off a a crew.  Problem was I had to find a way to get it from 500+ miles away.

November 7th, 2016: After failed attempts to get this picked up without being palletized I found a fellow 73-87 customer and internet friend that said he would be willing to deliver when he came home to Alabama.  We arranged the pickup/delivery on the roof section.

December 17th, 2016: Received this picture of the headliner strapped down ready for the trip to Alabama.  Expecting it to be here sometime around Christmas.  So for all those waiting we should be able to get started on this thing again.  Thanks to Devin for making this deliver for me.

April 14th, 2017: Just an update.  Spoke with the company that is working on the headliner for me.  They are working on the finishing the plug/mold for it.  We went back and forth for a while on 1 or 2 piece design.  I insisted it be 1 piece, his machine cannot form a sheet this big so he has an old buisness partner that does so this is moving forward as a one piece setup.  Just waiting on the mold/plug to be completed.

with the two piece it might make it easier to install and can go through the door instead of window. if it was a cheaper option, i would buy one of those just so i dont have to remove a window.
