77 c-10 build, Long time Coming
« on: November 03, 2013, 06:57:03 pm »
Finally after a long while I am getting started on my 83 c-10 that is being converted to a 77 c-10,  Plans so far a 6.0 lq4 swap, keeping the EFI, not sure on trans yet, th350 or the 4l80 that came in the donor truck, "2002 2500hd" frame was tore down this weekend and now ready to powder coat.  cut a 2.5" C-Notch in the rear of the frame, I'm kinda new at the forum thing so please bear with me as I go..

still collecting some parts but have quite a few on hand

Welcome to the forum and howdy from Oklahoma.

I look forward to seeing the build, I'm think it will be a stout rig when you're finished.

I ended up blasting and painting the frame myself and saved a few bucks to through at other parts, Not the final color but forgot to take pics when final color was applied.  Satin Black Frame, Blue was the color of choice for the primer cause we happen to have a lot of it so real cheap

Picked up the cab today, from a local excavating company.  Cab is a "70" series so it has the small back window, and used to have the "big" series grill and fenders.  Most of the other stuff looks like it is going to line up pretty good, every thing is solid on the cab, "very uncommen for Northern Michigan" most are rusty from the door handles down,  have to build brackets for the bottom of the fenders to mount to but no biggie.
