Truck cab vs Pickup cab
« on: November 12, 2013, 08:06:02 pm »
Does anyone know if a C60 C70 or K7000 series truck cab could replace c30 cab?  I am pretty sure the back window is different but am not sure about other things.  Would, doors, cab mounts, dash still work?

Welcome to the site.

I believe there are differences in the doors, as well as various cab mounting details.

Do a search for this, there is already many topics explaining it.

The answer is no. I believe the floor is different because the big trucks do not have the saddle bag gas tanks so floor is flat, the biggest difference is the cowl and front are WAY different because of how the hoods open on the mid-size trucks (c50, c60, c70)(flips opens to the front) the doors are the same other then the mirror mounts (bigger mirrors). And I believe, depending on the model the steering wheel is at a different angle.

This has been discussed on the forum, lot so differences.   The doors are NOT the same BTW, they have a notch in them for the fender.  See here.

I just purchased a c70 cab and the doors aren't notched? pretty sure its from a big truck cause it has the small rear window, no place for the lower part of the fender to mount and the trans tunnel is different.  door look the same though, "pics are posted on my other post in members ride" pretty sure I can make it work though with a little fab time

I would be curious to see how regular inner and outer fenders would fit...or the crowl. Unless that is from a cab/chassis that had utility box or wrecker or dump box on back, I believe some of those had small windows in the back, and nothing else would be different.

the cab came from a dump truck, I have looked the cab over more and more, inner fenders will be tricky, but I was planning on making my own anyway, the cab floor is different, almost flat, because the fuel tanks were located on the side of the frame and not under the cab and inside the frame rail, also the trans tunnel will need minor fab work to allow the 4l80 to fit

will keep everyone posted with pics as much as I can

These trucks are where I try and get my used doors from. They are up higher, and away from the salt used up here. They are usually in way better shape. I have several pairs in my box trailer from C 50 / 70 trucks.
