****HUNTERS SUCCESS PICTURES ***
« on: November 26, 2013, 08:26:18 am »
We have a lot of hunters on the site. Whether it be elk, deer, bear, moose etc. Its a great time of year to spend with friends and family. Lets see some of your Pict's and hear your stories. Where's mine your probably asking? With about 2 weeks of the season left I finally got some time off work and my son and I are heading to hunting camp. With more than a foot of snow predicted the six mile road should prove to be an adventure. Lockers front and rear and winches front and rear this is not the first time we have had to claw our way in or out. Let the excitement begin!!

The snow was deep the temp was cold -6 and the hunting was poor. The wheeling was great!! No big bucks to show. Looks like the hunting has been scare this year for all.

I didn't respond to this because we never took any pictures, but we did end-up getting 10 elk between 6 of us! :)  We got 10 because 2 of the guys hunted Washington and then also hunted 1st season in Oregon and were successful there too!  It was pretty rough starting out at the beginning of the season, but once all the weekend warrior hunters returned to work and the woods quieted down, the Elk came out of hiding.

Sounds like you would need six guys to haul the meat!! Could you get close with the truck to any of them?

Most of them were easy pulls, but if needed we have a gas-powered capstan winch.  One was a 2-mile hike with pack-boards!

It's all worth it when it comes time for the feast, hands down Elk meat is some of the best meat out there.

Sounds like a little to much fun, and not enough time working on the garage LOL.

Been doing a little here and a little there before the holidays.  Travelled to Oregon for the 4 day weekend.  Most recent items have been that I dismantled and recycled the 10'x20' canvas carport and rolled the '68 C10 chassis into the garage.  Then I spent a bunch of time cutting up all the scrap lumber so that I can put it to a second use in the wood stove.  Yesterday I hauled away all of the scrap plywood from the sheathing of the roof.

I've started to wrap the exterior to that all of the wall sheathing stays dry.  Then I will need to get serious about windows and doors!  The holidays and lack of daylight hours has been a factor for me.  I get about 1 hr of daylight when I get home.  Maybe I should focus on getting the electrical panel put in so I can 'hot-wire' some temporary lights.
