What is this canister? pictures
« on: December 08, 2013, 08:44:34 pm »
I am still learning about my 75 c10. I noticed this canister mounted inside near the radiator. It has connections for carb / gas etc. What is this canister for and do I have a vacuum leak since the are not capped off? The truck originally was a inline 6 but now has 327. There is a hose connected but couldn't really figure out where it was going. Looks like to the tank. heres the pics.

You do not have a vacuum leak. That is a charcoal canister, it holds fuel vapor from the gas tank. The 2 open lines are suppised to go.to.the carb which burn the vapors. Right now it isnt doing that. You can hook it up if you want..or not.

COOL I actually should have searched the word canister before posting that. I found more than several posts on it. Thanks so much for the reply though.
