I have sold a few model 1's and I have a model 2 on the way to go in my truck.  I haven't had anything but positive feedback on them.  I sell them by the way.

I bought and installed a Retrosound Model 1 in my suburban just this past summer, and have used it now for 7 months. I am very pleased. There are similar styled units out there that also do MP3 (can't think of the brand right now) that have a reputation for bad sound, but the RetroSound doesn't. I'm not a major audio dude, but I couldn't be happier with the system I put together including subwoofers.

I would heartily recommend Retrosound for anyone who doesn't want to hack up their dash for a CD player. CD's will go the way of 8-track and cassette in the not too distant future.

Yes it will fit the factory opening, which was shaft style, but not fit if someone cut a single DIN into it.

Chris, do you have any experience with the Zuma? I saw where it say it is Iphone compatiable, but does it control it or do you have to control the iphone at the phone?

Have you installed the model 2 yet? If so, how does it sound.

OK, I want to purchase the retro style radio that is sold on here. And the dash has not been cut, the old stock radio is still in there. I messed around with it today, trying to remove it. I need help on exactly what needs to be removed to get that thing out.   :-\  I got as far as the radio loose inside the dash but can't figure out where to route it to, to remove or what else needs to be removed to get it out.

When you say loose, do you mean loose to slide it back and forth a little or where you can move it around inside the dash area and you can not figure out what is in the way of it coming out the bottom ?

Someone hacked my dash for a DIN style.  I haven't gotten to getting it TIG's back together yet, but I have sold a few of the original ones to some local people with these trucks and they like them.  They sounded good to me.

The ZUMA can't control the Iphone it is just another Audio input so the control is on the Iphone.
Here are the instructions: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pb4oz99peb7uvpq/ZUMA_07%2017%2012%20i.pdf

The model Two will interface with the Iphone:

Depending on if it was ever removed prior there is a bolt on the back of the radio to hold it up also in addition to the shaft bolts.  Once removed (and the AC duct removed) pull it back point the front up and slip it down.

Ok, so it's the air duct that needs to be removed. Someone had to have had it loose or out before, once I took the nuts off the knob shafts, it would move around. Just couldn't fiqure out what needed to come off to route out from under the dash.  Someone also put an aftermarket radio in, it's mounted to the bottom of the dash under the ashtray. That's coming out also.
