What shocks are you using?

Figured I'd start a thread about shocks. What do you have and how do you like them.?

What's under the hood??? If you have to ask maybe we shouldn't race!

Edlebrock IAS and I am totally satisfied.  They normally are stiff for excellent road control and tracking, but soften in rough terrain to diminish jouncing.  These have become my first choice in road shocks and provide a much better ride than KYB or Monroe.

I'm using the gas-filled shocks that came with the Tuff Country EZ-Ride lift kit, and I like them a lot.  Not sure they have any zero-lift versions.

Gabriel Pro. Stock ride height. The truck had very old rough country shocks and they had no bushing left in any of them so any shock I had bought would have been better.

LOL - You had to ask....

They've all but gone away.  And, it's too bad, they're a good shock.  A few Edelbrock IAS are still available for some 3/4- & one-ton models from Summit, but who knows for how long?  Looks like they're purging their inventory.  Edelbrock appears to have dropped the line.  But, a search yields hit & miss returns on ebay, amazon, etc.  Ricor holds the patent on the IAS valving that make the shocks perform.

Yep. Just what I put on about 4 years ago. Didn't want super stiff, and didn't want loose drag shocks. It rides really nice, and actually handles quite well. Too bad they are non existent now.

Rancho 9000's.  They are ok.  They were on the truck when I bought it. I run them soft on the pavement and tighten them up off road.

Saw this and thought I'de add my 2 cents. I have Monroe Gas Magnums for 3/4 ton on my 79 C20. They are great! Bought them from Oreilly auto parts about 2 years ago. My old shocks were completely toast. My front coils are worn and my rear springs also however, my shocks don't disappoint. The truck rides great, nice and smooth, even on mildly bumpy roads. Real rough roads are felt as more of a rough bump then a hard pothole. Over I have had zero problems with them and will most likely get them again when needed.
