Does anyone know anything about these header-ish exhaust manifolds off of a 4.3 v-6?



i'd like to remove the A.I.R. tube right at the manifold.  So, i'm wondering if the manifold is made of the same material as other exhaust manifolds.  i probably won't be doing the welding because i don't have any equipment.  But what material should be used and what welding processes would be best?

If there is an easier way, i don't have to cut the tube right at the manifold.

well if you look at the tubes you will see they already been welded so they arnt cast. even saying that cast can be welded it just tends to have a heat effected area that will break easy. so if you cut that tube off you can just fill it in with a mig welder, its not hard just dont get your weld too hot. like spot it then let that cool till the reds gone and do the same thing all over

So you're saying not to use a patch of metal, just use the wire as the filler?

yeah its a small hole, i wouldnt bother. and the amount of patch you use you will prob burn it up trying to weld it in place
