Ok, just had a 5.7L TBI 350 motor built for my 87 4x4 P/U upgraded to vortec heads, yanked out the old motor and I'm in the process of mocking everything up while the new motor is on the engine stand.

....I didn't realize the modifications required switching from the stock TBI intake manifold, in my case an Edelbrock 3704 to the GMPP TBI vortec intake manifold! The old throttle body brackets don't fit, the egr/smog tubing/tubes needs to be reconfig and rerouted, AND NOW I CAN'T RIG UP THE A/C BRACKETS FOR THE COMPRESSOR!!!!!!
So far this is the only thing left that I can see during the mock up I'm gonna have to do some brain stormin on! The stock TBI intake manifold was of the 12 bolt variety and the new GMPP vortec intake manifold utilizes 8 bolts. My question is this, since the stock intake manifold bolts into the stock heads at a 23deg angle and the GMPP intake manifold bolts vertically into the vortec heads, the two bolts above the #1 cylinder will NOT line up and accept the small bracket for the A/C compressor!! This is the small bracket in which the larger A/C overhead bracket attaches to in order to assist in stabilizing the compressor and keep the belt tension tight. I am guessing I'll need to fabricate/jerry rig another bracket....yes, no? Has anyone here tackle this issue or have any suggestions?
Hopefully I explained everything in detail on what the heck I'm talking about, cuz I don't, just kidding

....I'll post some pics so you can visually view my dilemma.
Thanks in advance for steering me in the right direction.....
