« on: January 29, 2014, 06:41:31 pm »
Well I stole eric28millers mirror idea, and thought I would post some pictures. Pretty easy to install the way I did it. Please be easy I'm no fabricator I just couldn't stand my wobbly old Dumbo mirrors anymore

Two pieces of 16 gauge steel from tractor supply. one on either side of the vent window. Slid them in between window rubber an the door metal. Nice and sturdy. here's a pic of the Pieces and the drivers side

They look really good, are they powered also ?  I might just have to do this to my truck when I get to that stage.  I really like the look of those mirrors on these trucks.

These are split mirrors and they extend out. They give me a lot more vision then the old one did. But my truck is terrible when it comes to rear vision. Next step is a back up camera. But I still need to do my research on them. Here is a pic of the mirrors I got on ebay

Do you have part #'s?   And did you simply slip the metal into the rubber slots as securement?

Ya I just slipped them in, then bolted the mirrors through. I originally planned to weld everything solid. But they are surprisingly solid they way they are. When I finish the body work I will weld it solid and then paint the truck. After driving with them for a couple weeks now Im really happy with how well they work. I did finally realize what Zieg meant by blind spot. Sorry Im alittle dense :P  It doesn't bother me at all, its very minimal. heres a link  http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-97-03-F150-F250-LIGHT-DUTY-TELESCOPING-TOWING-SIDE-MIRRORS-MANUAL-PAIR-SET-/370814807937?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item565648ef81&vxp=mtr
