Twins
« on: January 31, 2014, 11:30:20 pm »
Here is a pic of mine and a buddies LWBs. His is the '79 in the front and mine is an '80 parked behind.
His is a factory big block truck and mine is a small block. Both trucks are pretty much original except lowering and wheels. His has had a repaint several years ago. Mine is original paint. Both trucks are really quite straight and will clean up nice. Pretty much everything works on both, even the cruise controls.

Good looking trucks! Functional too. Is the Big Block truck all that much faster/powerful than your small block? How much worse is the mileage?

We don't really follow each other to shows, but sometimes we'll go to dinner or something or meet somewhere. We do get lots of looks. Also we get people confusing us with each other a lot.

You can really tell the difference in power of the big block. The mileage isn't that much different in fact the BB may get a mile or two better than mine.
They both have 3.08 gears. I have a big block and 700r4 that I am going to put in mine as soon as I can find the needed bracketry. I have most of it, but I'm looking for the cruise control vacuum motor and bracket. I want it to look totally stock with the big block. The only thing I'm not planning on doing is running the 1/2" fuel line outside the frame rail like they did on the BB trucks.
I gave him a 700r4 to put in his whenever we get time.
