Im wondering what kind of MPG I could expect to get out of a 78 K 10 with a 350/4speed and a 3 inch lift kit and 31-33in tires gets and how i could increase the gas milage

Anything that takes a truck away from stock is going to negatively effect the mpg.  Stock size tires and height along with modest driving habits would be your best bet.  A proper tune to assure your engine is running at peak efficiency is also key to decent economy.  To many variables to even venture a guess...

4 speed as in a sm465? you could increase the millage by towing it behind a cummins
keep it under 60 and dont take off so fast. i would imagine you have 3.73 gears in the axles so im kind of curious on your millage also

I average 8.7 mpg in my '77 K20 with 31" Toyo Open Country M/Ts.  THM350 automatic.  The suspension is stock with a Part-time conversion on the NP203.  It has 4.10:1 rear gears.  Best I have got is 9.9 MPG and worst is 7.5 MPG

The engine needs a good rebuild as it has many miles on it and the Holley carb is junk!  I have a new SM Quadrajet to put on it and a new intake, but it is a Vortec manifold and I need to get me some Vortec heads to go with it and then actually rebuild the engine!
