Any info about the Royal Sierra?

I have a 1979 GMC Royal Sierra, 350,700R4 tranny, long bed fleet side. I have tried googling royal Sierra and have found out that these were built in Canada, I think. Anybody else have a royal Sierra or have any more info I them?

That must of been a trim package for that year of truck. GM Heritage website ( you can find here
http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/gm-heritage-archive/vehicle-information-kits.html
, which is in the tech section ) mentions nothing about a royal sierra truck in 79.

In that time-frame some of the manufacturers used unique model names for vehicles sold in Canada. For example, Ford used the Mercury name on light trucks.
Royal Sierra might not have been unique to Canada. According to this thread it was the equivalent of the Chevrolet Bonanza.

I've also found that GM mixed and matched Chevy trim names on GMC trucks. My '75 GMC is a Sierra with a factory option for Silverado trim, which is usually associated with Chevy. It does not have the name Silverado anywhere except in the list of factory options.

Royal Sierra is the same as a Chevy Bonanza. special year-end promotional packages
http://73-87.com/7387info/7387trimlev.htm
75gmck25 the trim level RPO was the same on the GMC vs Chevy, which is why it was listed that way. Yours should be a Sierra Classic..
