LS1 Header question
« on: February 15, 2014, 02:30:42 am »
Working on a 2000 6.0 LS swap into my 1979 GMC 1/2 ton 4x4. All of my searches are returning posts from years ago, hoping for updated information. Sm 465 manual tranny, gear t case.... Is there a reasonably priced header out there that fits with minimal fab? Would really prefer long tube style without breaking my budget too bad. Any help appreciated as this is my first LS swap.

welcome from the PNW.  there are a few on here that have LSXs but your best bet might be on www.LS1tech.com.  do you have any pics to share?

No pics yet, just an old basket case that wants to live again

There's another truck forum that will give better info than the LS1tech site. it's www.ls1truck.com and there have been guys who did just what you're planning to do.

I have see people use 2010-2012 Camaro 6.2-liter LS3 headers with a little frame clearance and pacesetter long tube headers for a 99-06 1500.
