Sierra 2500 dash emblem
« on: February 25, 2014, 02:37:21 pm »
I'm looking for a 'Sierra 2500' dash emblem for my 86'.  The only place I can find them in abundance is eBay but most of them are pretty beat up.  Anyone have a good lead on where to find these things in good shape?

From what I know, no one re-mans the GMC emblems other the front grill emblem. So you are probably going to have to buy one on ebay and take the time to clean it up and possible re-paint it. I looked for a good while to find the GMC fender emblems I needed and I found some that were in nearly new condition. Patience is key.

I did my fender emblems last year.  Found an okay pair on eBay and touched them up the best I could.  I got one of those GM red Scratch n Fix pens and colored in the 2500 area, and took a sharpy to the black areas.  They definitely don't look right out of the box, but not too bad I think.

Yes, Bake74, looking for one plain GMC Sierra (pictured below) dash emblem that's in good shape.  There is often a few on eBay at any given moment, but they're usually pretty beat up.

blazing816, those Sierra classic fender emblems you found are incredible, you might see a pair like that on eBay once every couple years!  I hadn't settled on a pair after 6 months of searching when my brother found some and surprised me with them.  I think they're fair at best, but I couldn't just not use them since it was a pretty thoughtful gift.

Yeah, I waited a bit until I found good ones on eBay like that for mine. However I just realized you originally were talking about the dash emblem, those are a lot harder to find, luckily I still had mine (I am just going to have to restore it. Your best bet is to try and find one at a junk yard. Or even if someone is selling a "beater" truck on craigslist, asking them if you can take the dash emblem.
