Both fuel gauges

I have a 85 k10 and both fuel gauges get pinned about full only when they feel like. What can i do to fix this?

     I do not believe there were ever 2 fuel gauges stock.  You are saying 1 one for the right tank and 1 for the left tank.  I would start with how they are wired in.
