Roof Repair?
« on: March 13, 2014, 10:27:14 am »
Never posted before, but I have poked around the site for a couple years now.  I traded my 85 C10 for a 78 K10 about a year ago in my haste to get the trade done (had to leave for Texas and was three hours late getting on the road) I never noticed a dent in the roof.  Basically i am wondering if they make patches or if i will have to get a donor cab?  I will post pictures later today to help get an accurate assessment.  Thanks Everyone.

Also if no patches are available does anyone have a guesstimate on a repair at a body shop, or any other ideas.  I'm no body guy so i wouldn't attempt this unless there are no other options and i was gonna ditch the cab.  I hate to ditch the cab because its in great shape other than the single dent.  I'm in Nevada now, but heading back to Michigan very soon, so finding a donor cab that isn't rusted out will be a challenge.

Depends on the dent, they have those traveling dent pullers I call them, if it is not a hugh dent they will be able to get it close for a reasonable amount of money.
Otherwise you are looking around $300.00 - $500.00 for a body shop to fix the dent and fix paint if need be.

that's not all that bad. probably a 30 minute fix (ready for primer) if you knew someone with a stud gun i would put money on it that you could fix it. it need 2 or 3 studs where the edge is pushed in. while pulling on the studs the "hump" on top will need to be tapped back down. then wipe it with some putty coat block it out and prime :)

X2 on what winky said, easy fix for a dent really with the right tools.
