Chevy Outdoorsman
« on: March 15, 2014, 11:26:16 am »
I did a search on this and found only one thread. It was a couple years old. So I decided to start a new thread on it.
Does anyone have any more info on this package? Posters in the old thread thought it may be a regional package. I don't know if it was or not, but here is some of the info I've found.
The Outdoorsman came in 3 colors, Green, Maroon and Grey and two tone with those colors. They were produced in 1985.
I found somewhere that there were 290 made. They could be ordered with Camping gear, fishing gear or hunting gear which included a Winchester model 94AE. The rifle had a gold colored medallion in the stock.

The reason I started researching this package was because I have one of the rifles.
Anyone else have any info to share?

There was a post on here.  Somewhere so I did some searching.  From what I found the "Outdoorsman" was a sales incentive program that offered buyers hunting, fishing, and camping equipment. They had an Outdoorsman decal on the rear of the bed on each side.

Share some pics

Found it:

The guy with the truck never did get back to the site with pics of it. In the mid eighties Chevrolet had an Outdoorsman package. See page 48, 49 of the mag advertisement.

No auto maker would DARE use a firearm as a sales incentive nowadays. How the world has changed even since 1985.  :(

I just completed a frame of retoration of my outdoorsman
In 1985 chevrolet offered the outdordman they were offered in Blue mountain slate, Colorado gold, Gune metal grey, and Forest green. They came with your choice of a hunting, camping, of fishing package.
Mine is a Blue montian slate K10 Short bed with the hunting package. The hunting package came with a winchester 30-30 rifle, scope, scope mounts, safety glasses, gun case, window rack and a winchester hat.
I can't attache any pictures it says my files are to big.

Rich
It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!
