Torq thrust II 18&20"
« on: March 16, 2014, 10:12:53 pm »
I'm having a 1981 C10 restored and the time has come to purchase wheels and tires. I'm looking at 18x8 on the front and 20x10 on the rear. I'm not sure of the offset & backspacing. Does anyone here have this setup and if so what measurements am I looking at? It's not going to be dropped at all and I want the wheels to be flush with the fender. I was originally going to go with 17x7 & 17x9.5 but I feel that's a little small for factory stance. Any opinions, pictures  and input are appreciated.

I did and the info isn't exactly what I need.  I've come to the conclusion I will go with 17" all the way around and stagger/rake the truck with different tire sizes.

If you aren't lowered the staggered size will make the front rim look tiny.

On the front 4" backspacing on an 8" will work
Rear with a 10" with 5" will be fine to push it out to match the front.

Thanks Capt. One more question for you. I've decided to go with TT II 17x7 in the front 17x9.5 in the rear with 235/55/17 & 265/70/17. Will that make it look awkward on a stock ride height?  I'm trying to give it a rake look with tire size. I'll take recommendations if you have any. I'm really just trying not to have such a big gap and I want to do 17" wheel. The TT 2 has many options for a bigger wheel but it's not justifiable to spend 275$ per rim for an inch bigger. Thanks again

You do realize that the front 235/55/17 is only going to be 27" tall and not fill any gap up, it will create gap.  Factory tires were 235/75/15's and were almost 29" tall.

This is factory 15x7 aluminum wheels with 235/75/15 tires on my truck, stock height

This is the 17x8.5 Impala SS wheels with 275/55/17's on the same truck, stock height:
