what type of fluid

I just had my turbo 350 rebuilt with Kevlar clutches and a competition shift kit. It will be used for daily driving/ off road. will a house brand of fluid work or should i run something like Lucas or Valvoline

Run synthetic ATF.  It's chemical properties are such that it will heat up much less, lowering transmission temps considerably and extending transmission life.  Shifts nicer, too.

Both of these products provide excellent, cost effective service in GM automatics. 

Heat kills automatic transmissions rather quickly.  Ensure longer life from your new HP transmission by installing a good supplemental cooler to augment the factory wet cooler.
