I'm just building up my 79 GMC. I bought an 8 foot Chevy box for it, Can't remember the year of the box but its definitely an 80-something. I also traded the chevy tailgate that came with it for a GMC tailgate to match the emblems on the cab.
Just put the box on the other day and went to put on the tailgate, but where it hinges doesn't reciprocate.
Does anyone know about this?
can I just unbolt those pieces and swap them?
Does anyone know anything about tailgates of this year?
Local Chevy parts store said they can order them in for $140, which Im NOT into. This is my first build and I'm just trying to figure it out as I go along.
