I know we have all seen Autometers in a Chevy dash. I have always liked them. I still like them! Sooooo.... Here are mine.
2 1/16" voltage, tranny temp, oil pressure, and water temp. 2 5/8" tach.
I didn't want the tach up on the dash, or hanging off of the A pillar. Clamping it to the column just isn't my style either. That's the best place I could come up with. It's fairly easy to read too, believe it or not.
In messing with these today I was able to trim the bezel in such a manner that allowed to gauge to tilt up at me instead of pointing at my gentleman parts. Bonus!
Pardon the fit of the dash pad. I fixed that after these pics were taken.

Looks nice, is the tach in the way of the light switch at all ?

Those look great in there, but why is your tach at 1000 rpms with the truck off?

Not at all Bake. Switch is fully accessible.

That's the second Autometer tach I've had that does that Tim. I don't know why. It doesn't do it every time either.

my dash pad looks like that on the left of the instrument panel. How did you fix the fit?
