new guy from northern ky
« on: June 01, 2014, 05:53:57 pm »
Ive been doing alot of reading on here for the past couple years and finally decided to join. Anyway ive got a 83 c30 dually that had a 6.2 diesel and i have switched it to 4wd. It has a mildly built 400 sbc a sm465 205 transfer case and a dana 60 front with dana 70 rear. I originally had a 72 k20 that i traded for this when i found i have a baby that will be born in september. My fiance has been a huge help on this truck and should i should have it on the road in a couple of weeks. I had pics of the entire build but my phone went for a swim and i lost them all.

I am also running crossover and high steering.
For brakes i am running hydraboost with a 78 eldorado master cylinder with a rear disk brake swap using 3\4 ton truck calipers and rotors.
Running a custom built engine crossmember and front shackle hanger
63 inch spring swap in rear with shackle flip and dropped brackets
Tires are 39.5x13.50x17 irok radials but will be dropping down to 37s because this is going to be the family hauler and tow rig.
I custom built a center console and fabbed a short throw shifter up for the 4 speed. It cut the shifter throw down 75% and its not much harder to shift than a factory shifter.
