putting aftermarket stereo in 76 c10, need to power memory
« on: June 02, 2014, 09:22:05 pm »
i have installed an aftermarket stereo in my 76 model c10. everything works as it should, except the unit has no memory. i tried connecting the memory wire to my fuse block where it's marked "radio", but still no memory. how should I have this hooked up to give the stereo memory when the truck is off?

Right or wrong I tap into the orange wire from the cigarette lighter

The memory wire for radios requires a constant hot to work properly.

That will work.  Any of the BAT taps in the fuse block will work.
