1985 GMC Sierra K1500 with a 305 c.i. engine.
I recently found a puddle of gasoline underneath my drivers side gas tank.... so the drivers gas tank was leaking from "somewhere".
I dropped the tank today; hoping to find an easy fix... a leaky hose, a rusted hose clamp. Unfortunately, the bottom of the drivers side fuel tank is rusted out and is weeping slowly... costing money and.. adding unnecessary danger to my parking spot.

Is it possible to use the switching valve to switch to the right side fuel tank and just plug the 3 lines that normally hook up to the drivers side tank while I source parts?
Its my daily driver... and I don't want to be without a vehicle.
If the right side tank is being used... will it ever send vapours or fuel back to the drivers side tank during normal operation?
Thanks for your feed back.
Jason.
