tranny question

I have a 79' chevy pickup with a th400 and I'm wanting a tranny with overdrive. Can anyone tell me what trannys there are with overdrive that will fit my truck. (5.7 350)

700R4's will work, that is what came stock in later years, If you are looking for one used, make sure it is a 89-92 version.  Anything before that were prone to problems.  You can also use a 200R4, that was behind a V8.  They typically can be found in G-body cars.
