Cross member frame bolt/spacer question
« on: July 19, 2014, 09:56:35 pm »
I just swapped TH400 to SM465 on my 86' K20 4X4.  When I put the cross member back (the holes lined up, score!) I realized I forgot how the nut/bolt/washer/spacers were arranged, and I didn't take any pictures of the original setup :-[.   I guess the most important part would be where the spacer goes so everything lines up.  The picture is how I have them in now.  Is that good to go?

Yes, Assuming you can tighten the bolts up to take out the gap at the top. The spacers go on the bottom as you have them...I have never understood why they were there, somehow the longer bolts help with vibration loosening or cracking or something, I don't know? Lorne

Cool.  Yea they have some space now, they aren't torqued down yet, I wanted to make sure they were in there correct first.  Thx for the info!
