Does anyone make an LED replacement for the original dome light bulb?

Do an Internet search.  AutoZone has them, SuperBrightLEDs has them, etc.  You'll need to do some research though - not all LEDs are created equal.  Some LED dome light replacements perform much better than others.  If you or anyone else on the board finds one that performs really well, post it up.

I just stuck an LED in mine, but the lens didn't allow enough light thru so I'm looking for a clear lens now. I like the idea of not burning up the light housing- which the original 211-2 bulb does.

Please post up if you find the clear lens cover.

I found a clear dome light lens. But I'm not sure it fits a pre-84 Truck. Whoa. Had to edit again- the shipping price is more than the price of the lens. Lens is  $8.95 and shipping to Tenn. is  $9.85.... looks like I'll be doing something else. Darn.

Thanks for the info Don, Where did you get your bulb? Not the report i had hope to hear as I'd like it bright in the cab when I want it. I also got to do some up grade to the dash lights, Its like a candle is back lighting it.

I wonder why they only list 84-87 that is fits.  Sometimes you have to overpay for item's if there is no alternative.
