I have a 1985 k10 scottsdale 4x4. Im pulling the motor to rebuild it and. I want to mildly rebuild it. Whats are some good ways to do this? Parts wise. Im wanting more hp and torque. Any ides and parts would be nice. Im goin to be droving this truck almost daliy and will be playing in it also. Not to worried bout gas mileage.

Derrik, the old saying goes "never build the house without first counting the costs."
Set yourself a dollar amount, then you can save the money and have a better starting point. Better hurry. Winter's comin..

SBC...Look at the specials Jegs have for a nice crate motor. I think it's under 2K with dizzy, and all bolt ons. Plus they ussually offer free freight...just a thought.....

Go to your local library. Mine had a book that covered going from a stock goodwrench 350, changing the heads, cams, headers, etc. with dyno testing at each step.

Buying a crate engine is a lot less than building one
Unless you want the experience or want to keep matching numbers or something
Our K10 is a Frankenstein so we don't have that concern
