Hopefully a member that is local to the truck can help you out. If not, would it be worth using an appraisal service? My insurance company requires that I get my 69 Camaro appraised every couple of years. It cost me $200.
I"ve wasted my share of time looking at trucks where the seller claims it has "1 ton axles" only to find a 10 bolt 8 lug front, or the big block motor is just a 350.
It might be $200 well spent

i found another 3/4 2wd crew only an hour away. the boy selling the 1 ton 4x4 has a little kid on the way and it has the normal cab corner rust. and a big dent in the bed.

the 2wd one i asked the guy for pics and he said he would but right now hes doing his sons birthday. i just said i understand i have a 3 year old and a little girl on the way and nothing would come between me and them. he then replies its his sons 3rd birthday and his girl is due in November. i just started laughing cause last month was my sons 3rd and my girl is due in October.

i tried looking at the members map but i cant see it, might be due to the firewall. is it working on your end?

Easier said than done. I sell my fair share of automotive stuff on Craigslist. I always post pictures in the ad. I generally ignore request for additional pictures. Sometimes it seems like people are just collecting pictures, im all set with that.
I know that's not the case here, but I feel that if I've posted pics and described the item truthfully, my job is done. Now its time for the perspective buyer to inspect the item and see if they like it enough to buy it.
Irish is in a different situation here being 8 hours away, but you would be surprised how many people want me to send them more pictures so they don't have to drive 30 minutes to look for themselves.

the past couple trucks i seen on craigs list "looked good" or "clean" but theres things pictures cant show that you might see first hand and the seller might try to hid those problems in pictures. the 90 4x2 crew that was 2hrs away looked good but getting there one door didnt close right the paint job was spray bomb to match his grass company's color the cab supports where rusted out and cut so someone would get a hold of the bolt.

this new one thats only a hour away the guy only posted one grainy picture. and i ask for more pictures just to make sure they really have the truck and didnt find pictures online.

At least an hour is better than 8, if he can send some better pics.
