where to mount a spare?

Kind of a strange question but where are you guys mounting your spares? I'm running 37s with a 4" suspension and 3" body lift and my spare is the same, so size is kind of an issue. I have a short bed 84k10 so I also want to avoid mounting it in the bed since I could use as much bed room as possible since it is a short bed. I do alot of wheeling so I need to be cautious of mounting it low because I don't want to snag the tire on something or get hung up on it. Any ideas? Thanks guys

How about safari style and go with a roof rack.  I've seen some tasteful ones.

If it were me I would harvest one from a Suburban in a salvage yard and cut it down to fit.  Then make one to attach to it.

I like the lowest left hand one on the white truck.

      You could always incorporate it into the back bumper with a swing out tire carrier.  We did it all the time on the jeeps we used to off road with.

That tire weighs a lot keep that In mind whatever you decide ,it will also see a ton of vibration.what's your current rear bumper situation? You maybe farther ahead trying to stand it upright in the box behind the cab and mounting it tight that Way. Even then your going to still get a fair amount of deflection.

With a 3" body lift you might be able to put a skinny 37 on top of the engine like the old Suburus used to do
