YIKES! HOW DO I OPEN HOOD WITH NO CABLE ATTACHED??

Big Whoops an unsupervised adult (to remain nameless) my brother, closed the hood on a 1987 suburban while the hood cable was off being replaced. Tricks for getting it open as latch release is hidden? And there's no mistake about it the hood is latched all the way down uggg.

Old school metal hanger, the kind uniform people use.  Un-twist it to make it straight.  Put a small u hook bend at one end and go fishing.  Actually it is pretty easy to hook and give it a yank.

Yes, if your paint job is pristine you'll want to wrap the wire with duct tape.  I know this topic came up before and I had pictures posted.  I will see if I can find it.
