install saddle tank

what is the easiest way to rehang a saddle tank in 1985 chev c30,other than have your local mech do it for you.any tips would be much appreciated.first time post but have checked your site numorus times in the past.found info accurate and helpful.thanks for your time on this.jon

drain fuel, use a floor jack to hold it up while strapping it anf doing hookups

That's the way I did it when dropped mine to replace the pump and sending unit in my right tank. If you have dual tanks the right tank is the hardest one because of the transfer valve. On either side dual tanks or not... Lift the tank up almost even with the frame and connect the hose(s). Then lift the tank the rest of the way and pot a bolt in the front and rear straps. You do not have to move thwe  bed at all. If you have dual tanks and you are doing the one with the transfer valve don't forget the ground wire for the valve when you bolt the heat shield d up.

      Welcome to the site.  The only thing I will add is I have used a piece of wood to displace some of the weight and keep it more balanced.

Valid point Bake..sometimes I forget the things that I consider common sense,it's hard to remember that everyone doesn't think like you. But I do wish I could teach the wifey too. I used a latching strap. Latched to the jack since I didnt have any wood
